In today’s generation, many children have been diagnosed with autism without knowing the causes of it. Researcher blamed environmental factors, hereditary factors, pregnancy issues, etc. Many parents are looking for the effective treatment for their children but still there is no evidence that any treatment can cure the underlying cause of autism.
Some suggested the proper behavioral therapies, educational and management strategies may help children to progress and adapt to their difficulties. In order to have effective treatment, parents and families should help therapies and autism specialists to address the needs of their children at home.

- Discuss child’s additional need in the family and knows the extra demands of the child.
- Develop a daily routine to allow the child to anticipate what is to be expected and to reduce anxiety
- Encourage communication skills. Offer choices to child and respond to all attempts to communicate
- Engage him/her in play and activities with partners as much as possible
- Limit the time spent in repetitive activities
- Just use simple, clear and consistent language for better learning and understanding
- Help to focus on teaching independence and self-help skills to improve the child’s quality of life
- Make him/her participate in meaningful activities including helping with household chores. It help reduce the time spend in repetitive or self-stimulating activities such as flapping or rocking.
- Prepare visual timetable as part of daily routine as well as clear expectation for behavior
- Always calm in all interaction to avoid children’s anxiety
