Kids today are always bored whether on home, malls or school. This thing is very alarming because it can affect to their future. Many children nowadays are getting worse and worse everyday in many aspect such as being so impatient, bored and friendless. Their world evolve on latest technologies.
Here are some things that makes your child bored and impatient:
1. Limited social interaction
As parents, we should teach our child to socialize with other children. Gadget today became replacement to outdoor time. Also, parents spend also too much gadget so they do not have time for their children to communicate.
2. Getting things right away
Nowadays, kid do not know how to wait because parents always give things a kid wants immediately. Like for instance, when a child says he is hungry, a fast food or drive thru will do, if bored, a phone or Ipad is available right away to make a child happy.
3. Latest technology
Technology today use by parents for their children as babysitter. A child may become busy with screens such as computer, laptops, cellphones and ipads that parents can do whatever they want. Children became bored during classrooms because their brain is trained of virtual reality that teacher’s voice is so boring. As virtual reality has graphic explosions and special effects that see on the screen, the brain getting used of high level of stimulation that they are not able to process lower level of stimulation.
4. Ruling the world
Kid today can get whatever they want. Children dictate what they want to their parents and parents seem to have no choice but give everything they want. Like for example, kid don’t like to eat vegetables, don’t want to sleep early, don’t want to write but want to watch tv and busy with Ipad. In this way, children may learn that they can do whatever they want but do not know the concept of need to do.
5. No dull moments
Parent create a world of fun for their children that there is no dull moments. They will give everything that makes their kids entertain. Parents have their own world such as work world and children have fun world.
As parents, we should give time to our children. Limit the use of technology such as screen time and connect to your children emotionally. Make your children wait. Do not use technology in malls, restaurants, cars instead teach them waiting while talking and playing games. Engage them also to outdoor play and activities. Teach social skills to your children by sharing, complimenting others by saying thank you and please. Assign task for children such as folding clothes, sweeping floor, hanging clothes, unpacking groceries, setting the table, etc. We can make difference in their lives if we can trained them and strengthening their brains.
