Autism or Gut Issues

global development delayI feel so stress when I found out that my son is suffering from global development delay and possibly autism. I tried to research the possible cause of autism and read a research that majority of kids with autism have a higher rate of inflammation in their digestive tract. This inflammation may cause a cloud in the brain.  Symptoms of gut issues include food allergies, chronic diarrhea or constipation, bloating, leaky gut, mucous, blood or undigested food in stool.

Since my son is lactose intolerance since birth, I assume that may be he has leaky gut. He also pooh every time he drunks plenty of milk. He often suffering diarrhea when he was a baby and he has 3 to 4 times bowel movement everyday. So what I did I give him small amount of virgin coconut oil to cure if he has digestive issues. He started to point things and tell me if he wants milk. I do not know if his improved behavior is because of virgin coconut oil or because he is getting older.

Some research shows that leaky gut is to blame to the rise of autism.  Research suggests that 9 out of 10 individuals with autism condition also suffer from gastrointestinal problems including gastrointestinal problems such as leaky gut and inflammatory bowel disease. They do not yet exactly know how gut bacteria affects the behavior but one hypothesis shows that a leaky gut may allow substances to pass into bloodstream that affects the brain. Some researcher believes that restoring healthy microbial balance in the digestive tract may reverse autism behavior but according to Caltech biologist Sarkis K. Mazmanian they need more years of work before they are confidently said that gut bacteria impact autism and whether probiotics are a viable treatment.
